TEAR group 2006

Here are some of the lovely people who came to the TEAR BBQ last Sunday to get the TEAR group going for 2006. From the left there is Owen, Brit, Cooper, Jo, baby Amelia, Jeremy and holding the BBQ tongs is Cathy. It should be a good year for the TEAR group with a mix of learning, including info nights to invite friends to, campainging and prayer. Our first meeting will feature cathy sharing her recent trip to India and Bangladesh - "44 minutes to cross the subcontinent: snapshots + snacks + secrets all the way from dhakka to dehli". It's at 4pm, Sunday 9th April at 2 St Georges Terrace, Battery Point.

I can't wait!

Mystery car trip

This is Owen and Roy on our mystery car trip. Unfortunately James couldn't make it but we'll have to go again sometime! Here i have managed to capture Roy's amazing smile. (you have a great smile too Owen, although i think i only got half of it!)
Roy lives in Glenview Nursing Home and James is has been his main visitor and friend in the last couple of years. Roy has lived in North Hobart and Goulbourn Street for all of his life (i think). His Dad came from Cambridge (near Hobart, not in England). He was telling us about the old picture theatres and how he went to see a movie in 1944 at the State Cinema in North Hobart but the other old picture theatres have closed.

Gravelly Beach, voting, tomato relish, Lizzie and Yvonne

< Gravelly Beach- is this Morocco or Tasmania? I can't tell with those Date Palms beside the river .

I've been at my parents place since Thursday night. Being in Gravelly Beach is always relaxing. Today was especially productive: I made tomato relish with my mum, voted in the State elections, and saw my long time friend Lizzie.

Penny and Yvonne at Tasman Peninsula.

Owen, Penny and I celebrated 8 Hours Day by going on a drive to Eaglehawk Neck and being a little bit touristy.

Hanging out with friends #2

Amber and Yvonne at Howrah beach today. Amber and I love our beach therapy. It was kind of weird being at a beach with an amazing view of the mountain and the city. The water was clearer than at Nutgrove, Taroona and Kingston. Maybe it's more sheltered in this nook in the river.

Hanging out with friends #1

Owen, Roy, Yvonne and James. I will endevour to capture Roy's amazing and cheeky smile in pictures of the mystery car trip coming up not this week but next week.
